Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 30, 2026

Hackery ("the App") is a Hacker News client for iOS, iPadOS, and visionOS developed by Tim Shim.

Data Collection

The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising frameworks of any kind.

Bookmarks

Bookmarked stories are stored locally on your device using SwiftData and may sync across your devices via your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. This data is stored in your private iCloud container and is not accessible to us or any third party.

Network Requests

The App connects to the public Hacker News API (hacker-news.firebaseio.com) to fetch stories and comments. These requests are made directly from your device. We do not operate any intermediary servers and do not log or intercept this traffic.

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics services, or advertising networks.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.
